Why are my NHS applications being rejected?

Hello and welcome back to the HealthHireUK newsletter.

We last posted a newsletter out over eight weeks ago and we are so happy to be back again!

Today we are going to talk about why most people will have their NHS applications immediately rejected.

Most care workers when applying to the NHS, simply click apply and have not bothered to check the advert to make sure it is a suitable job before applying. This means, their application will simply be rejected.

Before applying for a job, you make sure you are happy with the job title, working hours and location. If you require visa sponsorship, this will also be mentioned on the advert.

Once you are happy with this, check the person specification.

The person specification is a list of the needs and wants of the hiring department, a list of what they want to see in a candidate.

The first part will be the essential criteria, you must meet most if not all of these to have a chance of securing the job. If you are not meeting several essential criteria, find another job to apply to, or if this is happening regularly, try to take courses and gain more experience so that you are meeting them.

The second part is the desirable criteria, whilst these are useful to have, you still have a chance of securing a job without meeting these criteria.

Now you are happy with the job, along with meeting the person specification you can start your application in the knowledge that you have a great chance of success!
